TMCnet Call Recording Week in Review

December 22, 2012

It is a busy time of year as 2012 draws to a close, but even while people are distracted with other matters, the technology sector chugs along with new announcements and innovations every day. This week was a busy one in the call recording space. Let’s take a look at some of the top stories!

First came the news that Firespotter Labs had created a free UberConference app for both iPhone and Android. The app is specifically designed for the mobile experience and makes it easy to add your existing contacts to conference calls with the touch of a button. "These days we're all on the go and people aren't necessarily in an office when dialing into a teleconference,” said Craig Walker, CEO and co-founder of Firespotter Labs. "The necessity of calling from airports, coffee shops and the backseats of taxicabs makes it all the more critical that people be able to quickly access powerful call management features such as adding people to the call on the fly, muting, earmuffs, or turning call recording on and off with the touch of a button.”

Also this week was the news that Autonomy had won a 2012 North American Frost & Sullivan award. The award was in the “Product Differentiation Excellence” category. The company’s solutions offer multi-channel capabilities to optimum customer contact and superior agent skills. "Autonomy's solutions offer a comprehensive, flexible, and IT resource-efficient method for seeking, gathering, and analyzing growing volumes of data from a widening array of sources to provide actionable, contextual, and relevant knowledge and insights that can be shared across the enterprise," said Frost & Sullivan research analyst Nancy Jamison.

In other news, EpiSensor has come out with a new generation of its scalable wireless energy monitoring system that offers a new smart gateway and upgraded sensors. “Our new system is designed to be equally advantageous as either a new installation or a retrofit installation to interface to existing enterprise software,” said Gary Carroll, CEO of EpiSensor.  “Because it’s fully modular and wireless, this scalable system can be installed with minimum disruption to normal operations.”

Finally this week, Cable & Wireless Communications added C3’s Network Conferencing application to its current C3 Network Messaging system. “C3's Network Conferencing allows us to provide an enriched conferencing service to our customers, whilst leveraging our existing C3 platform and our initial investment," said Andy Bridson, chief commercial officer, Cable & Wireless Communications Channel Islands and Isle of Man. “We have been very impressed with the C3 platform, as well as the ongoing technical support from the team who are incredibly responsive to our requirements.”

There you have it! It was an exciting week in the call recording space. Check back with TMC early and often for more exciting news!
