TMCnet Call Recording Week in Review

February 09, 2013

As more companies turn to call recording solutions for quality monitoring, agent training and to meet regulatory compliance, there are more innovations, trends and resources available in the industry. Here are the top stories from the call recording community this week.

Nexidia, a provider of customer interaction analytics solutions for businesses, recently released Nexidia Live Collection Assistant, a solution that will deliver alerts and knowledge to contact center representatives and supervisors during live phone calls. These solutions are part of the flagship product Nexidia Interaction Analytics, which allows collections companies to capitalize on returning as much of its collection efforts as possible.

We all know of police and government surveillance equipment recording phone calls, but recording calls on your smartphone? As with everything else these days, with every request for another daily chore made easier, “there is an app for that.” If you own a smartphone, you’re in luck, because when it comes to recording calls, there’s more than one app for that. Some of the options for recording on iOS and Android systems include TeleStar’s call recorder, Clever Mobile’s call recorder and Google Voice.

SaaS developer Simkl rolled out a new service that pushes it a couple of notches higher in the IM recording landscape- a recording add-on for Skype and Windows Live Messenger. It also introduced a new app, IM Chat & Voice Recorder v 3.0, that can record Skype audio calls and archive Skype chat from Windows Live Messenger and Skype to Simkl servers automatically.

The office is not necessarily dictated by a physical location anymore. If you have a smartphone or a tablet and cloud-services for your business application, anywhere can be your office. Depending on what kind of drive you have, this can be seen as a benefit or detriment.

The new Call Manager Mobile from Toshiba is an application for the VIPedge cloud-based business telephone solution. This application allows Android mobile phone owners to use many of their business telephony features while away from their desk. The VIPedge cloud-based communications platform provides organizations with a full featured telephone system without having to own and maintain a system onsite.

Stay tuned each week for the latest in call recording technology!
